Welcome to my Delicious series
This collection of work is themed around my love of food. Some are based on still life, some are from my imagination and some are of delicious things from my travels.

Parisian Cake
This acrylic painting features a raspberry cake I enjoyed at Angelina’s in Paris.

Cocktail
This acrylic painting features a cocktail i drank at a vegan sushi restaurant in Barcelona.

Apple
This is an acrylic painting of an imaginary apple sat atop a cloth. If you’ve ever done a test for aphantasia, one of the questions is to imagine an apple and see how much detail you can see with your minds eye.

Autumn Squash
This acrylic painting features a number of small squashes, they were destined for a squash lasagne for Halloween.

Limes
This is an acrylic painting of some limes. My primary motivation was to experiment with some new pigments. The black in the background is “The Blackest Black” from Stuart Semple and the green of the limes is painted in “The Greenest Green” which actually glows under blacklight.

Orange slices
This is an oil painting of some orange slices from a particularly juicy orange. The painting sold at the Marshchapel art exhibition in 2024.

Dumplings
This oil painting features a steam basket of dumplings from a recent trip to Copenhagen. We visited a “secret dim sum” restaurant and this was one of the delicacies they served.

Orange Slices Again
This is an acrylic rendering of orange slices based on another photograph.

Mortgage Deposit
I painted a slice of avocado toast in acrylic to round out this collection with a bit of humour. Its an imaginary scene but I was inspired by a rage bait article I’d read about the struggles of younger people to get onto the housing ladder.
