Food

A selection of acrylic and oil paintings of tasty things

Cocktail

On a visit to Barcelona we visited a charming little vegan sushi restaurant and I had a few cocktails. I can’t remember exactly what the cocktail was but it was very limey. I painted this in acrylics when I arrived home.

Dumplings

I visited Denmark with my water polo team for a tournament and ended up in this fascinating hidden dumpling restaurant. The food was incredible and when i arrived home I had to paint the memory in oils.

Raspberry Cake

A few years ago, when we’d only been together a few years, my husband and I decided to take our mums on a trip to Paris. Neither had been on holiday abroad for decades and we wanted to take them somewhere memorable. While there we visited a cafe near the Louvre and treated ourselves to some hot chocolate and patisserie. I had this incredible raspberry cake and just had to paint it in acrylics.

Limes

The black background of the limes in this painting is very dark, it almost looks unreal in photos. I acheived this using an incredibly matt black acrylic, the green of the limes was also painted in a flourescent green so under black light this painting takes on a completely new life.

Apple

What’s more to say, this is an apple in a neutral room. I enjoyed the simplicity of just painting an apple and having it be the centre focus of the painting.

Squashes

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
